Outwitting the six ghosts Fear

These ghost or fear factors are always there for everybody.  Most will allow 

these ghosts keep them from fulfilling their desires, dreams and destiny. There 

are the few who outwit these and fulfill their destiny.

The six ghost of fear are: poverty, criticism,ill health, loss of love of someone, 

old age, and death.

The two ghosts or as I would refer as my inner demons is the fear of poverty 

and criticism.   

Poverty which can be lack of excess money, debts, fear of paying bills and not having a happy and healthy life has always been there.  Afraid to answer the phone, afraid of the lights being shut off, buying groceries, and not having twenty bucks in my pocket.  I’ve been there and it was not a pleasant experience.  The economy may have been in a recession and I may have gotten a raw deal, but most of the problem here was my doing. 

I didn’t budget, over spent and bought a bunch of stuff I didn’t need.  I was buying on emotion, not on common sense. This was my doing.    Not against having nice things: cars, boats, jewelry, etc.  Just don’t buy it if you cannot pay cash with no worries.  

Like every bad situation there are always some positive.  I try to be much more 

frugal on decisions now.   

I imagine poverty is on a lot of people’s minds right now with the Corona Virus. 

Businesses operating with a skeleton crew or in many cases shut down for an 

infinite period of time. Some will never be open again.  This should be a learning experience for many. I will cover this more at the end. 

The fear of criticism is another. Up until the last few years I have always let the naysayers who question my endeavors put doubt into my mind. This goes back to me. Don’t do this business, don’t run this race, and the list goes on.   Most are family and mean no harm, they just don’t get it. I have finally accepted that that is okay. 

What they don’t understand is I have the entrepreneurial blood in me. I may be a disabled veteran with some unwanted hands dealt in life, but this is one thing you cannot shut of.

I may not be Zig Ziglar, Tony Robins, or Michael Dlouhy, but I will make my mark. These three had their share of lousy hands dealt in their lives, but they didn’t let the fears keep them down.

For the rest of the fears.  Poor Health? I had a major health scare twelve years ago. I lived by the grace of God. I went through an extensive impatient rehab and still have outpatient care. Still have side effects, but I am plugging away. 

Loss of love. My wife and I were essentially apart for the first two years of our marriage, due to my deployment. Within a year of returning I was diagnosed with a service connected illness and other injuries.  Our marriage barely survived this, but by the Grace Of God’s intervention we survived.  She stuck by me during the toughest of times.

Old age and death. Well we can do our best to take care of ourselves, but the clock never stops on our body in the natural.  As for Death. Well the mortality rate is one hundred percent, we just don’t know exactly when.  I have accepted that live is short compared to eternity. Therefore I wish to live life as full as possible, be the best husband, father, and contributor to society as possible. When it’s our time, it’s our time!

I am doing my best to not let these fears bring me down. The Corona Virus is a serious matter. I, however, have the belief and confidence that we will as a society beat this and come out stronger in the long run. 

This Pandemic is a wake up call to me. Trading hours for dollars does not mean security no matter how much money you make. Something like this can shut everything down overnight.  No time like the present to build our network marketing businesses. 

During this time we need support and outlet of positive material and uplifting people. Am so blessed to have Mentoring for Free. Thank you Michael and Linda Dlouhy for this program. Thank you Rick for reaching out to me. Thank you to everybody who participates on these discussions.

HOW TO OUTWIT THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR

 

Take Inventory of Yourself, As You Read This Closing Chapter, and Find Out How Many of the “Ghosts” Are Standing in Your Way.

 

BEFORE you can put any portion of this philosophy into successful use, your mind must be prepared to receive it. The preparation is not difficult. It begins with study, analysis, and understanding of three enemies which you shall have to clear out.

 

These are INDECISION, DOUBT, and FEAR!

 

The Sixth Sense will never function while these three negatives, or any of them remain in your mind. The members of this unholy trio are closely related; where one is found, the other two are close at hand.

 

INDECISION is the seedling of FEAR! Remember this, as you read. Indecision crystalizes into DOUBT, the two blend and become FEAR! The “blending” process often is slow. This is one reason why these three enemies are so dangerous. They germinate and grow without their presence being observed.

 

Do not be deceived by the habits of these subtle enemies. Sometimes they remain hidden in the subconscious mind, where they are difficult to locate, and still more difficult to eliminate.   – Hill

 

I remember being a young boy going to the waterpark for the 1st time.  It was Wet-N-Wild in Houston TX.  There was a huge waterslide that I waited in line for hours to ride.  It must’ve been 5 or 6 stories high!  I finally reached the top…I admit that I was a little nervous, But I wasn’t going to chicken out!!!  There was another boy that did chicken out…after waiting in line for hours, climbing all those stairs, get to the top just to chicken out.  That slide was one fun ride it was worth the wait to me!  On the other hand, the guy that chickened out, let his fear influence his behavior.  He missed out on a very fun and exciting ride!

 

I didn’t know this guy personally so I have no idea where he is today, BUT I wonder if he ever faced his fear and took a ride, down the big slide.  It’s sad to see so many people with this same mindset, living in FEAR!!!  The worse part of all, is passing this same mindset to the next generation! 

 

I remember my grandparents hiding money in mattresses and coffee jars.  They didn’t trust banks.  They both grew up during the great depression.  They’ve both passed away several years ago now, but they did get checking account and a safe deposit box at Austin Bank before they died.  Talk about making a change, I know it had to be very hard for them to trust a bank.   I really believe it was the fear of poverty that kept them from trusting banks for so long.

 

Fear of poverty is a state of mind, nothing else! But it is sufficient to destroy one’s chances of achievement in any undertaking, a truth which became painfully evident during the depression. - Hill

Chapter 15 - How to Outwit the Six Ghosts of Fear

"You are being selfish!" is what I was told, and that was
so true.

I don't know how to write.  I don't know what to write.
I can't speak up on the calls because I don't know what
to say.  What if what I say or write sounds stupid to
others?

Fear can make us selfish!

If I only concentrate and are fearful of saying and doing
anything because I am concerned with my feelings only, I am
being selfish.  I had to take a good look at myself and what
I was telling myself, justifying why I was not wanting to
participate.  

Being selfish is being overly concerned with self and not
thinking of the other person.  Even the Bible tells us 
"YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

Loving our neighbor as ourselves is thinking about how we
treat and talk to them, how we make them feel not how we
feel.  Taking the focus off of ourselves and placing that focus
on others is, as the Dictionary describes, unselfishness as 
"having no concern for self : UNSELFISH".

Hermann Hesse is quoted as saying "You are only afraid if you 
are not in harmony with yourself. People are afraid because 
they have never owned up to themselves."

Sometimes we need "Tough Love" to recognize what is holding 
us back and sometimes it is just being told "You are selfish!"

Dorothy Thompson stated "Only when we are no longer afraid do we 
begin to live."

The following is a summary of a book, Go With Your Gut – Intuition Is More Than Just A Hunch.

“Most of us experience ‘gut feelings’ we can’t explain, such as instantly loving – or hating – a new property when we’re house hunting or the snap judgements we make on meeting new people. Now researchers at Leeds say these feelings – or intuitions – are real and we should take our hunches seriously.”

Professor Gerard Hodgkinson and his team at Leeds University Business School are proving Hills reference that the subconscious mind “is the ‘receiving set’ through which ideas, plans, and thoughts flash into the mind.  The flashes are sometimes called hunches or inspirations.”

As we think through our own lives, it’s impressive to look at various hunches that have directed our path.

For me, when I first saw my husband in summer school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City in the hall, I truly felt stunned and overwhelmed.  That had not happened before.  Fifty two years after our marriage, I got an email from a family history company with a list of names of my relatives.  His name was one it.  I expected to see that he was my husband….but no.  Ten generations ago, our ancestors were cousins.  So we are cousins ten generations removed.  From other experiences during our marriage, I was aware that we had known each other before we were born and this surprise made that concept more real to me.

The directive I was given in my mid 60s while walking down the hall in our home to renew my teaching license led to action.  With no awareness of why, I entered classes at CU to get the credits I needed.  There was no clue as to why this was important and nothing happened for a year and a half, but it lead to my being a substitute teacher and then becoming a full-time teacher again (with many miracles along the way).  Then, within 4 months of actually being hired as a full time teacher, our new insurance allowed the open heart surgery my urgently husband needed, for which we paid only $500 deductible for his 21+ days in ICU and no more for a second emergency surgery to remove a foot of his colon in the same visit, only 3 days after the heart surgery.

Some hunches or intuition lead to major things and some to small things that save people from car crashes or being in the right place at the right time. 

And for us, in the early years of renting, we always knew the right house for us as we looked together without discussing it.

Even my being part of Mentoring for Free was on a hunch after seeing Michael’s email about 7 times, I finally decided to see what it was all about.

From that time on, I will be forever grateful to Linda and Michael for putting this all-encompassing program together and to include the self-development I needed so much.  Thanks to all of you who contribute lessons and comments as well.

Think and Grow Rich – Chapter 15 – The Brain

The twelfth Step toward Riches

 

This is a fascinating chapter.  I know the power of the brain is so amazing and one of my favorite five books in my lifetime is called Testimony of Light by Helen Greaves via Francis Banks.   One of my clients over 35 years ago was a delightful female minister.  One day, she gave me this book.  It is the story of Helen Greaves and Francis Banks and their experiences after they met in the 60s at a mental telepathy convention.

 

It seems the two women decided to work together to develop this type of relationship after the convention.  Helen lived in England and was a writer.  Francis was a Catholic sister who lived in South Africa.  In time, they were able to communicate regularly through the power of mind connection.  There was to cell phone or low cost phone communication available at this time.

 

Eventually, Francis contracted cancer and became near death.  Her life had been totally devoted   to service and she now accepted the idea that her physical life was coming to an end.  At this time, she was getting excited about moving into the next dimension.

 

A short time after her death, Helen began to get messages from Francis, just as she had before.  Francis wanted to share what she was experiencing.  The book is a compilation of the messages that came to her for the first year after her death.  It is encouraging and very inspiring.  I often loan it to friends or clients who have lost a loved one.

I know there is a super power that guides us.  This week, I was having trouble reprogramming my printer and went through each setting.  After about a half hour, I stopped and prayed.  I just said that I had done all I could do and even though I had done this once before, I couldn’t remember how I did it, I need help.  Immediately, I was told in my mind to push COPY.  I did and found the path to make the change I desired.

 

I am so grateful for the tremendous abilities we have been given by communication with others and with God through the power of our minds.

She gave me some clear directions on what to do and got me stimulated to work my business the right way on 

Facebook and Linkedin and now I am slowly working my way through those directions but as a result I have had

some interest in my products in my home based business and I have a guy who wants a coaching call so I got that set up.

Sometimes men speak lightly of the intangibles— the things which they cannot perceive through any of their five senses, and when we hear them,

it should remind us that all of us are controlled by forces which are unseen and intangible.( Quote From Hill) and the intangibles for me are to listen to my gut

maybe after consultation with a trusted understanding person.. Maybe somebody in Mentoring For Free? And then share what I have been

given with someone else I think might use or need it.

With the unccertainy in theworld today because of the corona virus it makes this staement truer than ever 

THE “depression” was a blessing in disguise. It reduced the whole world to a new starting point that gives every one a new opportunity.
