In order to achieve success you need to work hard and work smart and you need to do it day after day not just when you feel good!  The majority of people will throw their arms in the air and quit at the first sign of opposition or misfortune.  They rather be comfortable than uncomfortable. This involves just about anything that is worth having in life.  This includes athletic endeavors, personal health goals, financial freedom, and marriage.   There are challenges in every one of these and you have to work at them day in and day out!

In other words you have to be Persistent in all-significant endeavors in your life.

As most of you know I was a swimmer and now I participate in Triathlons and other Endurance Events.  Successful completion of these events requires quite of bit of training.  Some of these workouts seem fun at the time, but most are not.  They are physically challenging and can feel uncomfortable.  The key to a successful workout completion is counting down the miles of running, biking, laps in the pool, or dry land training.

I rarely look forward to long run workouts.  They, however, are necessary and I keep my eye on the prize.  They always end.  There are days I do not feel like working out at all and the hardest part is getting started. I usually feel better once I am in the workout.   What keeps me going is my desire and I have to be persistent.  I will not be successful if I am not persistent and consistent.

Navy Seal Training is considered to be one of the toughest if not the toughest Schools to complete in the United States Military and the Globe.  Every year there are approximately one thousand recruits which begin the course.  Approximately two hundred and fifty of these recruits successfully complete the program and become Seals.

One of my favorite people to listen to is David Goggins. David has completed several ultra marathons and triathlons. Prior to this he was a Navy Seal who served in Iraq.  Goggins, as well completed Army Ranger School and one other challenging Military course.  Any of these courses will push you to the limit physically and mentally.  He talked about some of his classmates in Seal Training. They were physically strong and successfully moving along through the course.  He said one of his fellow classmates was beside him one day during an intense session. He was doing fine, but started to talk doubt to Goggins. Goggins told him you are doing fine and to hang in there.  Then within minutes the seal recruit step out of training formation and Rang the Bell.   This person was physically able and could have completed the course. He, however, lost his mental edge and did not have the desire to complete the course and definitely did not have the persistence.

Goggins himself started Seal Training three times before completing the course.   That is pure desire and persistence.  Today he operates on the same principles with the ultra endurance events and attitude towards everyday life.   Goggins like President Trump can come of as abrasive and does not always use the best language.  I fortunately got passed this and recognize his heart, desire and he has gotten where he is because of his persistence.  He never stopped.  Goggins is an inspiration to me anyway!  One of the things I like most about him, is he never blames someone else for his failures.

The world needs more examples like David Goggins.   Stories such as his are inspirational and uplifting verses most of the garbage that is offered.

The same thing applies to success in business.  The most successful Entrepreneurs will have failures and setbacks along the way.  Tom Monaghan began Domino’s Pizza from a one store Pizza Parlor to several thousand home delivery outlets.  What is amazing is Monaghan s built this chain up more than once.  He sold the chain and came back after it went bankrupt and rebuilt it.  Then the company faced another challenge with lawsuits.  Monaghan successfully built the company back a third time.  This was not luck.  This is desire and persistence.

Network Marketing is no different.  The concept is simple but not always easy.  The few who make it to the stage get there because they had desire and they had persistence. Many, as well faced Setbacks that were out of their control, like Tom Monaghan of Dominos.  They successfully built their businesses up in a different company and the rug was pulled out from under them.  Some like Michael Dloughy did this more than once.  Then they found a five-pillar company as Michael Recommends and made it back to the stage.   They had desire and the persistence to drive on!

The majority, however, will quit and run back to their lives of quiet desperation.   We all have the ability, but we need the persistence.

Mentoring for Free is a great place to be. We are not alone and all moving on the same road.  Thank you Michael And Linda Dloughy for this wonderful program.  Thank you Rick Burnett for reaching out to me.  Thank you to everybody who participates on these weekly calls.
