Chapter 9 PERSISTENCE: THE SUSTAINED EFFORT NECESSARY TO INDUCE FAITH

Fortunes gravitate to men whose minds have been prepared to “attract” them, just as surely
as water gravitates to the ocean. In this book may be found all the stimuli necessary to “attune”
any normal mind to the vibrations which will attract the object of one’s desires.

If you find you are weak in PERSISTENCE, center your attention upon the instructions contained
in the chapter on “Power”; surround yourself with a “MASTER MIND” group, and through the
cooperative efforts of the members of this group, you can develop persistence. You will find
additional instructions for the development of persistence in the chapters on autosuggestion,
and the subconscious mind. Follow the instructions outlined in these chapters until your habit
nature hands over to your subconscious mind, a clear picture of the object of your DESIRE.
From that point on, you will not be handicapped by lack of persistence.

Your subconscious mind works continuously, while you are awake, and while you are asleep.
Spasmodic, or occasional effort to apply the rules will be of no value to you. To get RESULTS,
you must apply all of the rules until their application becomes a fixed habit with you. In no
other way can you develop the necessary “money consciousness.”

POVERTY is attracted to the one whose mind is favorable to it, as money is attracted to him
whose mind has been deliberately prepared to attract it, and through the same laws. POVERTY
CONSCIOUSNESS WILL VOLUNTARILY SEIZE THE MIND WHICH IS NOT OCCUPIED WITH
THE MONEY CONSCIOUSNESS. A poverty consciousness develops without conscious application
of habits favorable to it. The money consciousness must be created to order, unless one is born
with such a consciousness.

Remember, How You Do Anything Is How You Do Everything.

This chapter truly highlights how important the power of decision in ones life is. 

To quote Amelia Earhart: "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward. "

This past week, I've had the presence of a really wonderful idea that involves expanding on my Etsy shop but taking it in a new direction by having my own website. This is really important to me because the idea is close to my heart and life experiences and it's a way to cut out losses by eliminating Etsy. I've been in planning mode, and though I've had to change directions at least 5 times since I've had the idea, I wouldn't even be at this stage unless I had decided to act on the idea. As Earhart says " The process is its own reward" and I've found that to be very true for me already. 

As a person who gets frustrated when things change and I have to start again, this process of writing and rewriting plans and patterns has been necessary AND helpful. 

It is said that if you have a great idea and you don't do anything to act upon it, that it will find another host. I definitely don't want my ideas to be had by somebody else especially when it was within my power to do something about it.

Its one thing to learn the skills and put them into a PLAN OF ACTION and asking people to be our customer. It's okay if they say NO. We did our job and we have to ask ourselves two questions:

1. How can we adjust so that we get a yes next time?

2. What skills we need to learn?

Then make an adjustment and get back in the field & ASK.

If you don't ask you are no different than the person who attends class & does not do his homework. Just because we are done with high school and college does NOT mean that this rule does not count anymore.

There is no reason to cry if your friends and family do not support you. Some people unfortunately lost their warm market but that did NOT stop them from learning new skills & building their team & accomplishing the highest rank in their company.

Point is its not how you start. It's how you FINISH that matters in the end.

Henry Ford made his decision by keeping the Model T in style and did NOT change it for a long time even when his advisors told him to. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe not. But the point is this, its better to make the wrong decision than no decision at all. Michael Dlouhy says "Pull the trigger", you do NOT have answer until you TEST it! And if the 56 men did not sign the Declaration of Independence & no mastermind between Adams, Lee and Hancock there would be NO America. Hello!!

I can relate to that paragraph, I was part of the 98% for a long

Time.  I had convinced myself that I was put here in this world

I have learned that if you want more you have to surround

I heard Joel Osteen talk about his mother, the doctors told her

Back in 1981 she only had two months to live, she looked

Up all the promises God has made to me, and she started

Saying them over and over again and she got better.

I Googled Promises God Has Made To Me, I found 54 promises

God has made to me, I will be adding this to my reading.

Everybody says an mlm truth is the choice to make decisions quickly and change them slowly if anything. The 56 men who signed The Declaration of Independence have. Their lives were at stake. If they did not do that then America would be under British CONTROL  & it would be FAR from how life is today. So many people who have gone away to college switch majored back and forth, back and forth. Without realizing that they are making wishes NOT decisions. My good friend and mentor Michael Dlouhy describes in his book Success In Ten Steps the following on decisions “you must have a strong reason to do it, if what you are doing does not work you will figure out some other way. But if you are wishy washy you are a goner!” If others influence your life then you will be spinning in circles. Tuula Rands discusses the reason why its so crucial to make decisions today in all areas of life! Without making decisions we are going to be getting nowhere. And leaders make decisions whether they are right or not. They don't jump without knowing anything. They were not born as leaders, the learned their craft from someone who was experience with results. They learned the skills and as soon as they got it, they acted on it! Afterwards they evaluated their results and they ADJUSTED their plans until their plans worked which meant that they achieved their goal!

Chapter 8 - Decision

Hill tells us in this chapter "Keep in mind the fact 
that every person with whom you associate is, like yourself, 
seeking the opportunity to accumulate money."

WOW!  That is very interesting.

So, why don't they all join us when we present them our
opportunity?

Hill answers that for us "ACCURATE analysis of over 25,000 
men and women who had experienced failure, disclosed the 
fact that LACK OF DECISION was near the head of the list 
of the 30 major causes of FAILURE."

It is easier for people to just say "no" because that to
them does not feel like a decision. People do not want to 
make a decision!

It takes effort to make a decision and then stick with it.
We are then accountable and have to do something.  We don't 
want to fail, we don't want to change, we don't want to be
criticized by our family and friends.  So "NO" is the easy
way out. If we say "no" we won't be able to fail.  Fear 
of the loss of "something" is at the head of the list.  

Hill also points out to us "Those who reach DECISIONS promptly 
and definitely, know what they want, and generally get it. The 
leaders in every walk of life DECIDE quickly, and firmly. That 
is the major reason why they are leaders. The world has the 
habit of making room for the man whose words and actions show 
that he knows where he is going.  

As Hill pointed out every person is seeking the opportunity 
to accumulate money but not all are willing to make the decision
to do anything about it.  We are looking for the leaders and
leaders are not afraid to make a decision and take action.

Jim Rohn stated "It doesn't matter which side of the fence you get 
off on sometimes. What matters most is getting off. You cannot make 
progress without making decisions."
