Imagination is a tool, a powerful tool. However, like so many other tools like hammers, skill 
saws, money, Plumb bob, level or transit they are neither a Positive or Negative Force by
themselves
 just sitting in Your tool box it’s all in HOW You USE the tools.

You will not be successful if You lack an imagination.  You need to see yourself succeeding at
whatever You are doing.  This goes for every area of Your life.

There are TWO FORMS OF IMAGINATION

One is known as “synthetic imagination,” and the other as “creative imagination.”

SYNTHETIC IMAGINATION:—Through this faculty, one may arrange old concepts, ideas,
or plans into new combinations. This faculty creates nothing. It merely works with the
material of experience, education, and observation with which it is fed.

It is the faculty used most by the inventor, with the exception of the who draws upon the
creative imagination, when he cannot solve his problem through synthetic imagination.

CREATIVE IMAGINATION:—Through the faculty of creative imagination, the finite mind
of man has direct communication with Infinite Intelligence. It is the faculty through which
“hunches” and “inspirations” are received. It is by this faculty that all basic, or new ideas
are handed over to man.

It is through this faculty that thought vibrations from the minds of others are received. It
is through this faculty that one individual may “tune in,” or communicate with the
subconscious minds of other men.

This chapter knocks down and compares synthetic imagination to creative imagination. I love the quote that states a person is limited by their own mind. This really is such a true statement. A person with no goals will accomplish everything they set out to do, which sadly is nothing. A mind with no direction is sadly a wasted mind.

 

I had stepped back into the J.O.B. for a good while and for that matter, am still there. I have been blessed with a new child just a couple of weeks ago, and lead several ministries now within my church and am being trained to lead on greater and higher levels. We mush have desire in order to achieve anything. 

 

To put it simply, if I desire pizza, then I do something, an action, in order to get pizza. It could be calling Nona’s and getting that delivered (I love nona’s, you guys should come to the Philippines and get some of that, a shameless plug for them only because I love their stuff).or it could mean I step into the kitchen and make a futile attempt at making a pizza before I have one delivered. Making pizza isn’t my strong suit in the kitchen. The point remains the same, though. We must have the desire (thought) before any action can follow. 

 

Success comes with the action, but before any action, there must be the desire to set the action in place.

 

Two of the ministries I have been blessed with leading is are recovery ministries, which I am very passionate about. This was a desire in which I had in mind when I came to the Philippines. I did not expect it to come about in this way, however, I am now leading the entire Philippines in this ministry and maybe even all of southeast Asia in the coming months. This is not patting myself on the back, mind you. I personally just want to help people be free from the struggles of drugs and alcohol, but the desire was there for me. This opportunity has been given to many before me, however, there was no desire for these other people, so the opportunity diminished. 

 

What I do see in these strange days that are upon us in the ‘pandemic’ is plenty of opportunities. Should you have a desire for something, for me, it is a successful online business to be free from the proverbial 9 to 5 job, but for you, it could be something else, what is amazing is that there is more opportunity today than there was 18 months ago, which might have been my last time up on here in these lessons. I have been diligently working hard on my online business and getting all the bells and whistles in place. It will be up and running in the next 2 weeks. It will be profitable. Recognize your desire, dream on it. And simply KNOW that you can do it. When we know something, there isn’t doubt. It is listed as facts within our mind. There’s no question to it. That’s the beauty of knowing. Simply know you can do it. And then start taking the steps to making it happen, It might not happen the way you plan it, much like my experiences, but check it out… it’s happening.

Wayne Dyer stated "Begin noticing and being careful about keeping your 
imagination free of thoughts that you do not wish to materialize. Instead, 
initiate a practice of filling your creative thoughts to overflow 
with ideas and wishes that you fully intend to manifest. Honor 
your imaginings regardless of others seeing them as crazy or impossible."

When I mentioned to one of my nieces about my Network Marketing business
she told me that she could not see herself building the business but she
had the confidence that I could do it and succeed.  She did not have the
imagination to see what I saw in the business.  She did not say it was
crazy but in her mind and imagination it was "Impossible" for her. 

As Rod Serling stated "Imagination... its limits are only those of the 
mind itself."  

My niece had set limits on her imagination.

When I joined Network Marketing I imagined the success of my venture 
without limits. As I continue building my business, and it is not where 
I would like it to be, I have to ask myself, am I setting limits on my 
success by some "mind blocks" about certain areas of my business?  
Am I giving excuses to myself without even realizing it? 
Have I set limits on my imagination?

Les Brown stated "The only limits to the possibilities in your life tomorrow 
are the buts you use today."

How many "buts" do I have?  Sometimes we have to take the time to examine
ourselves and what we are doing.

Susan L. Taylor said "We need quiet time to examine our lives openly 
and honestly - spending quiet time alone gives your mind an opportunity 
to renew itself and create order."

The biggest step toward any planned success mission is the first step.  In other words nothing will happen if you don’t begin.  The biggest enemy is procrastination and is why most people fail.

 

I have been in and out of endurance sports for years.  I swam competitively in high school and three years of College.  Even after my career was over in the pool, I still had the itch.  This is the reason why I got involved in triathlons a while ago.  As said before my long-term goal is to become an Ironman.

 

To do this I had to make a decision to move forward.  This journey requires a number of milestone events.  I began with Sprint Triathlons.  Now I participate in Olympic (International) distance races and had my first Half Ironman distance race scheduled this season. Unfortunately the season did not happen, so I have postponed the event till next year. 

 

Besides the events there is a lot of preparation: scheduling, nutrition, mental, and physical training.  The physical training is a number of different workouts: Swimming, Biking, Running and Dry land strength training.  Besides training I have other responsibilities and endeavors: business, husband, parent, and spiritual time.  God and Family are my top priorities. Training and racing is a big part of my life, so I have to schedule workouts around the rest of my schedule.  Some of these workouts are early in the morning.  Since CoVid arrived at the scene, my Para triathlon is doing virtual cycling and strength sessions on Zoom.  These workouts usually begin between six and seven in the morning.  Therefore I usually am up and moving by six a.m.  Besides the pets I am usually the first human up and around.   Some mornings I don’t feel like getting up. 

 

I often feel tired and sometimes lousy for the first ten minutes or so.  I, however, plow through it and get to the scheduled workout. I always feel better once I am well into my workout.

 

This goes the same for my long run days.  Along with schedule coordination I have to deal with weather issues such as hot, cold or rainy days.  This can be tougher than getting out of bed.   I have slacked a few times, but I usually get down to business, because of my long-term goal.  Why, because I made a decision!

 

Most great things in history happened because of a decision.  One of the most significant is the Declaration of Independence, which led to the birth of the United States. This consisted of fifty-six men, who ensured the success of Washington’s Armies, and the spirit of decision was in the heart of the citizen soldiers who were fighting for independence and freedom.  These brave men were considered traitors to the motherland of England. Each of these men essentially signed their own deaf warrant.  They, however, saw their reasons outweighed the risk.  Praise God they made the decision and took the risk.  Otherwise we may have never seen the American Way of Life.    This is the reason I get very disgusted and angry when I see folks today slamming America and are way of life.  Some of these folks are in high profile positions.  Why I have begun to practice Michael’s advice on avoiding the news and Social Media as much as possible!  Too many Debby Downers who are good at the negative, taking you out of the game and stealing your dream.   Not worth any attention!

 

The same goes for business.  For example Fred Smith the founder of Federal Express.  Smith had an idea for that revolutionized the airfreight business.  He wrote a paper about this in an economic class at Yale University.  His professor believed that airfreight would eventually be the primary source of revenues for commercial airlines.  Smith concluded that there needed to be a system that involved packages not people.  His Professor disagreed so gave him a low grade. 

 

Most people in this situation would quit and throw their idea in the trash. Smith, however, carried on.  After College he worked diligently and with enthusiasm.  He raised over ninety million to finance this idea.   

 

He still had challenges such as commercial airlines that lobbied to stop him.   The key investors almost removed him and took over the company.  Smith never lost faith.  Last year Federal Express reported revenues of approximately seventy billion dollars.   Why?  Smith made a decision.  He worked his way through the tough times.

 

Network marketing is no different.  You will not succeed if you don’t make a decision.  Most people fail in this industry.  Why?  First they need to find a five-pillar company as Michael teaches and they need to make a decision.  I’m going do this regardless of what some of my friends, family and pinhead neighbors think and say!

 

Every top earner in Network Marketing I can remember would not have made it, if they had not made the decision to do it no matter what.

In conventional careers sales can be the hardest way to make a living or the easiest way to make a leaving.  In many cases it will be difficult in the early days, or at least on the experiences I had in my conventional career.   

 

Things can significantly change for an individual under certain conditions.  First of all you need to find a good company, with a great product or service, that offers value, and priced within reason.  This is the same concept as Michael stresses on joining the right network marketing company.  I would advise anyone who is looking into sales that they do their due diligence on the company.  Find out as much as you can from current and past employees.  Note, if you find out it’s a revolving door company for sales professionals, you need to run not walk.  I wasted my time more than once.

 

Secondly you need to have the right attitude.  Most will not buy from someone who has the Debbie Downer attitude.  Plus, I would not want someone working for or with me who has this demeanor.  You will have bad day even if you are the best sales professional in your company and industry.

 

Some products or services may be easy to sell. Some prospects will buy immediately because they are ready to buy.  Most, big sales, however, will not happen on the first call.  It never happened for me in the different industries I worked in.   Many will fail simply because they do not have the right mindset and are not persistent.  

 

You need to have persistence to succeed. According to Hill, the lack of persistence is the weakness common to most who fail.  One may conquer the weakness of persistence based on the intensity of their desire.  If you lack the desire to achieve something big you will not follow through. You will quit at the first sign of trouble.

 

 

Very few people will say yes on the first call.  Before I reentered network marketing again, I marketed pet insurance by building relationships with veterinary hospitals in a large territory.   One of the first things I learned was most veterinarians does not know how to run their practices in a business sense.

 

Veterinary Schools are no less selective if not more in terms of applicants as medical schools are. So it’s safe to say that Veterinarians have above average intellect. They have love and compassion for animals. Many, however, are not the most business minded.    The reason I am bringing this up is most Veterinarians did not grasp why their clients would need pet insurance.  We had to successfully market this concept to the clinic owner. Pet owners who insure their furry friends will be their best clients.  When fluffy has a serious injury or illness they will not ask what this will cost them, they will ask what can you do for them. This is why you recommend them to consider insuring their puppy or kitten at the end of the first visit. 

 

A few clinic owners understood the value of insurance quickly. Most, however, did not and were not receptive or even polite in the first few calls.  In other words they were not happy to see you when you walked through the door.  We were just one of the ten other sales professionals or pest that is wasting their time. 

 

Many clinic owners finally agreed to an appointment with me after I had stopped by several times, called their office, and e-mailed them.   A number of Territory Partners who were doing the same thing did not last very long.  A few contracts were terminated due to lack of activity, but many quit simply because they were not patient or persistent.  As said a few weeks ago, this was tough, but things were moving steadily forward due to my persistence.  I only stepped aside due to health reasons. 

 

Network marketing is no different than a conventional sales position and or career.  As Michael teaches you need to be involved with a five-pillar company, have the proper mindset and you have to be persistent.  Most people will fail not because they have no persistent. They will quit after they have talked to their circle of friends and relatives. They said no and some may even use some more constructive vocabulary and worst of all you may be insulted.  This does not mean they are bad humans, they just might not understand the concept, have a desire for more, or they know you to well.  You have been involved with different ventures even a prior network marketing experience and quit.  This is just the latest thing.

 

As Epictetus said, “ It’s not what happens to you it is how you react to it that matters!” Is best to thank your friend or relative for their time and drive forward.  Many high level earners in network marketing have brought some people into their business after they had success down the road.  This includes financial prosperity, they had a setback, or maybe they see you are growing as a human in a positive direction.  They might want what you have? 

 

In order to keep the chin up, smile on our fact, and eye on the prize, we need to keep a positive charge.  One needs positive personal development and associate with positive people who are going in the same direction. We may be in different companies, but are driving on the same road.

Chapter 5 - Specialiezed Knowledge

Hill tells us in this chapter that millions of people falsely believe
that "knowledge is power. He also points out that knowledge is only
potential power that has to be organized into definite plans of action
and directed to a definite end.  Action has to be taken for knowledge
to become power.

Hill in this chapter is talking about attracting money but the principle
is also true in other areas of our lives.  We have heard Michael Dlouhy
say many times "In order to make more, you have to become more."  That
power of having the knowledge that we all need personal development
is not enough.  Knowing it does not get us there.  We have to do
something about it.

These think and Grow Rich Lesson and the color training calls will give 
us the knowledge and the action plan for us to "become more."  Yet,
people will come to this platform and stay a short while and think they got
enough, think it takes too long, think they don't have the time, etc. etc. etc.
and they leave.  Maybe they think this is just too simple for it to really
work and they miss out because they are not willing enough to stay the course.

Without personal development we will not have the confidence to do the
actions that are needed to build a large business if we have never done it
before, and most of us have not. 

Darren L Johnson states "Based on my pool of coached clients, 90% of the 
challenges for business owners exist in a lack of personal development."

We can harness that power by being here, posting our thoughts, reading 
other posts, participating on the calls and not giving up.  We may not notice
the "more" that we are becoming right away but we will as long as we 
"stick with it" until we do.  

We can become, as Michael Dlouhy says,"Ten foot tall and bullet proof."

MLM Secret On Avoiding Bad Phrases Today

Tom Big Al Schrieter talks about an mlm secret of avoiding bad phrases today because then our prospect gets defensive!

We don't see this coming.
We prepare our notes. Focus on our prospects' motivations. Then carefully begin our presentation story ... and instantly, we have that bad feeling again. It is over.

What?

Over already? We haven’t finished our entire list of benefits. What went wrong? Why did our prospect make a "no" decision?

Here is what happens in our prospects’ minds.

We want our prospects to decide if our business will improve their lives, or not.

Somewhere in our presentation, our prospects change their decision criteria. Now they think, "You are a salesman. What can I find in your presentation to protect me from you?"

What triggers this?

Rapport and the words we say. That is why we must be careful of the words and phrases we use with our prospects.

If we notice this change in decision criteria, stop. Rewind the previous 30 seconds and see what we said that triggered this disaster.

Some examples of possible words or phrases that could trigger this event?

  • "Just share this with your friends."
  • "And if everyone sponsors just two ..."
  • "Make a prospect list of 200 names."
  • "If your 'why' is big enough, you will figure out how to do it."
  • "Pretend to be excited when talking to ..."

Great phrases help us. Bad phrases doom us instantly. Making a list of both types of phrases for our business is one of the best exercises we can do.
