As part of the Mentoring for Free recipe, the seekers of the secrets to success in Network Marketing are entitled to a coaching call with the Mentoring for Free founder, Michael Dlouhy. Once during every one of these calls that I have been on, Michael has been sure to tell those seeking knowledge that they cannot do this business by themselves. He tells them that not only do they need a mentor, they need a team. Why a team? Whatever happened to "if it's meant to be, it's up to me"?

I am sure there are some superstars who can probably build a huge team based solely on their ability to recruit, but those people are very rare, and the teams they build rarely last. That is because the super recruiter rarely builds lasting relationships. But I think a better example of the need for a team can be found in the world of sports.

I am a big basketball fan, I love the game. One of my favorite players of all time is Wilt Chamberlain. Wilt was the only player in NBA history to score 100 points in a game. A phenomenal player. However, he had the misfortune of playing in the era of Bill Russell and the Boston Celtics. While Bill was a great player in his own right, he was not as big, and nowhere near as talented as Wilt. Wilt was the best player in the league, but Bill played on the better team. And those Celtics played like a team, and as a result won a record 8 championships in a row during Wilt's reign as the best player. I think it is ironic that the only championship that Wilt won, with the Lakers, was when he finally agreed to sacrifice his scoring for the benefit of the team.

Michael Jordon, arguably the greatest player in history, could not win a playoff series until he had a true team around him. He is one of the greatest scorers of all time. But I can think of a couple of championship series that were won because Michael passed the ball to an open teammate instead of trying to take the game winning shot himself. And each time, his teammate came through. Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest players in this era, is now facing losing season after losing season because he doesn't have a talented team around him.

I guess what I am trying to say is, I don't care how great you may be or think you are, you need other people to be successful at anything. Not only do you need a team, you need a coach, you need a mentor. Les Brown says that, "You can't see the picture if you're in the frame". Proverbs 21:2 basically says that every man is right in his own eyes. But our eyes aren't objective when we look at our own performance. You need to have honest feedback in order to make course corrections. And we all have something that may need correcting. But hey, Tiger Woods needs a coach. Michael Jordan needed a coach. Because even when you are really good, you can be better. This is especially true if the coach you choose has done what you have set out to do.

Knew how to create additional income from at home, earn more money part time than the boss does full time, knew how to lose weight by eating cookies. You get the idea. The reason why I am just curious and would it be okay is crucial to say to prospects is because you are talking to the prospects subconscious mind. That is the part of the mind that makes decisions. Think about a story. A story gets people to say "tell me more." Think about the song in the movie Grease called "Summer Nights" by John Travolta. about. That my thoughts create my goals and dreams. My
thoughts create my action plans. And, my action plans,
practiced daily and compounded over time, will eventually
and undoubtedly lead me to the realization of my goals and
dreams. And, so, I have devised simple and doable actions
that I put into practice daily that I know, in time, will lead
me to where I want to be.

Every day now, because of the persistent effort that I have
practiced for years now, I, literally, contact a minimum of 6
people about my network marketing business. Some days I
contact more than 6. But, with just contacting 6 people per
day, that equals 180 people per month and 2,160 people per
year. Don't you think as I do that by contacting that many
people per year through persistent application of my contact
skills that enough of those contacts will join me in my business

Chapter 8- Decision- The Mastery of Procrastination
““Those who reach DECISIONS promptly and definitely know what they
want, and generally get it. The leaders in every walk of life DECIDE quickly,
and firmly. That is the major reason why they are leaders. The world has
the habit of making room for the man whose words and actions show that
he knows where he is going”

The bell rang for me, when I read that quote from this week’s chapter. It makes me think of something that Michael said last week on the Leaders call about people having decisions made for them. (I wish I had written it down)

I made a decision in the beginning of this Mental Cleanse, to “get off the sideline and get into the game”. BE ALL IN. I have been just watching and warming the bench. Although watching is important too, eventually you have to try it yourself. After all, a wise woman once said, “there is no money in watching!”

I have been waiting for the right time, and the right time will never come. My procrastination comes from fear. Perhaps I have been listening to the naysayers and dream-stealers, usually disguised as friends and family, in my case.

Through the MFF program and this Mental cleanse and other trainings. I am learning to become a critical thinker, and this is exciting. I used to think that because I did not get a college degree, what I had to say was insignificant, and not much value. So this Oober Blue personality said nothing. Imagine that- a quiet BLUE! Not like we walk around with our diplomas in our pockets or purses anyway!

Starting now, I will create my future by creating a new and improved “Gayle” I can do nothing about the past. After all, where has my past actions gotten me? Just landing on my feet.

Recently my company announced that they are offering bonuses if we reach a leadership levels by the end of the year. Both Brian and I see that particular bonus so clearly. It will put us on the track to becoming Truly DEBT-FREE and owning our lives. I am not going to TRY for this bonus, I will DO IT!

“ I am a person of action. I am a leader, and I will hopefully inspire others to take action as well. All the pieces are in place and armed with the ebook in one hand, the colors in the other, I can brand myself, and attract others who want to join me in business, as I have seen others do before me. Top Home Business Secret Revealed On Making Decisions Today

The top home business secret revealed on making decisions today is to ACT now and avoid procrastinating. The time to be successful is to do things what others won't so that tommorow you can have what others can't. Steve Porter is a great example of making it happen! It will work for you only if you use what you learned, if you do not then you will lose it!


Hill writes in this Chapter that "Analysis of several hundred people
who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million-dollar mark
disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching
decisions promptly, and of changing these decisions slowly, if, and
when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate money,
without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all,
very slowly, and of changing these decisions quickly and often".

These words instantly remind me of a conversation I once had with
one of my older brothers while we were sharing breakfast and
enjoying our monthly master mind session. Reggie, my brother,
shared with me that one thing our Dad was most intrigued by was
my history of making a decision to do something and sticking with
that decision until I had accomplished the thing. Reggie told me
that I am not one who is easily distracted. He told me that I am a
plodder. He described me as someone who takes action on a daily
basis to accomplish my goals and that I do not let anyone nor
anything take me off course. That is exactly how I finished college
and law school. It took me 9 years after graduating from high school
to finish college. Most people finish in 4 or 5 years after high school.
But, the thing is, I stuck with it. I did not quit. I plodded along until
I got it done. The same thing with law school. I made a decision to
graduate from college and did so. I made a decision to graduate from
law school and did so.

And, on September 2, 2010, I made another decision. On that day, I
made a decision that I was going to accept the offer of Michael Dlouhy
for him to help me to own my life. Period. Done. End of discussion. Since
that day, I have made other decisions and I have plodded along my
journey until I accomplished the decisions I made. One decision was to
become one of the best students of the network marketing profession.
I have diligently and relentlessly studied network marketing by reading
books, listening to CD's, plugging into the Mentoring For Free training,
and by plugging into the Fortune Now training offered by Tom "Big Al"
Schreiter. I also made a decision to learn the skills of how to effectively
speak with prospects. And, after I made these decisions, I practiced
these skills until they became habits for me. I practiced these skills
over and over and over until they became second nature for me. Until
they became such a part of my subconscious mind that the application
of these skills is now automatic.

I have made a decision to own my life and to use the network marketing
profession as the vehicle to take me there. I have an incredibly strong
"Why"! My "Why" is to be able to do things, anything, because I want to
and not because someone else or others want me to! For example, just
this morning, I had to make a court appearance for a law client. I did not
want to awaken early. I did not want to have to put my suit on. I did not
want to have to drive to the courthouse. If I owned my life, I could have
slept in this morning until I was done sleeping. If I owned my life, I could
have stayed in my home all day if I wanted to. If I owned my life, I could
have left my home anytime if I wanted to.

But, I do not yet own my life. So, I know that until I do, I will have to
continue to do things because other people want me to. But, this is going
to change. Why? Because, I have made a decision to change it. I have
made a decision to own my life. And, since I am an expert plodder, I know,
without any doubt, that owning my life IS going to happen. It is, simply,
just a matter of time! It is a decision that I have made! And, once I make
a decision, whatever it is that I have decided to do will happen!

When you use the Colors To Success it is magic because you could have more rapport with the prospect in two minutes than someone who has known him for two years. Here is the reason why, you are able to determine the prospects strengths and weaknesses. And you point out only one weakness to him to avoid hurting his feelings.
An example of this is as follows: For a green personality: Lets say you are mentoring and coaching a green personality. When Michael Dlouhy mentors a green personality he says to them that they have been getting ready to get ready for so long that they have missed many opportunities. Launch and learn he says which means that you learn as you go and you fail forward by making mistakes and learning from them. That gets the green to think that you are a leader in his eyes because you can point out his weakness within two minutes and if is coachable and he likes you he will want to be in business with you instead of the competition.

For a red personality you must let them know that this is not a sales business. This is a teaching and mentoring business. You must be able to relate to people by asking them questions. Where are you from? What do you do for a living? What do you like doing during your free time? When you visit with people by LISTENING to people and have a common bond with them, especially when you respond to the what do you do for a living question, by saying "Thats wonderful, thats great, I heard it was a terrific way to make lots and lots of money." And they disagree with that then you have a dialogue. Because if you agree on every topic then there is no conversation going on.
